Dodger is one of the longer residents here on the ranch and one of our first rescues.
He was found with his sister, abandoned in the parking lot of a truck stop by a trucker that no longer wanted them. So he dumped them off to fend for themselves. Dodger and his sister were brought back here to the ranch and now Dodger is a king and walks around the ranch with the pride of a tough, loved ranch dog.
He is brave and eager to please, and just recently he alerted us to a very real danger right under our nose.

On a chilly fall day we were all outside working in the barn. All of a sudden we hear a very loud and alerting bark we instantly recognized as Dodger. We ran out of the barn and over to the chicken coop where we heard the commotion, and there was Dodger, and backed into a corner was a large rattlesnake staring viciously at him. Dodger had called for us to warn of the danger and ever since then, Dodgie has be proclaimed the official "Scout and protector of the Ranch!"
