The Morning Patrol

The moon was still awake when the rancher woke up one early morning. Something wasn't right he thought as he walked towards Sonny and Percy, Cloverfield's two most trusted morning patrollers. 
"Go find out what's wrong boys" the rancher said, as he opened the front door for Sonny and Percy to begin their morning patrols. 
The two were padding along the property when suddenly Percy stopped and pricked his ears. 
"Did you hear that, dad?" he asked Sonny as he looked towards the back property. 
"Must be that coyote that shows up every morning." Sonny replied, turning around to have a better listen. Suddenly, a chorus of howls sounded startling both father and son. 
"That doesn't sound like just one coyote, that sounds like many!" Percy said as he and Sonny began to run towards where the sound was coming from. As the two made their way over the hill, Sonny and Percy finally found out where the sound was coming from. Rather than the usual coyote, there were three! 
Immediately, the two jumped into action. Barking loud and clear with the hair along their backs raised, Percy and Sonny ran swiftly towards the pack of coyotes in order to protect their ranch. 
At to the sound of Sonny and Percy, the three coyotes took off realizing that this property wasn't theirs to take! Sonny and Percy stopped and watched as the three coyotes ran off into the distance far, far, away. Sonny and Percy trotted back to the house proudly, surprised to find the rancher waiting for them. 
"Good work this morning boys!" he said, glad to have two of the best morning patrollers around. 

And that's just another day at Cloverfield Ranch!
